Following the news that terminally ill Star Wars super fan, Daniel Fleetwood, has passed away, the star of the upcoming Episode VII, John Boyega, has paid tribute on Twitter.
Fleetwood suffered from spindle cell sarcoma, a rare connective tissue cancer, and said he was fighting as best he could to live long enough to see Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Following the massive social media campaign surrounding "#ForceForDaniel," J.J. Abrams and Walt Disney Studios provided Fleetwood with an advanced copy of the film to watch in his home.
Two days later, he passed away.
#ForceForDaniel glad you got to see the movie more importantly that you slept in peace. God bless you man x x you inspire me xx— John Boyega (@JohnBoyega) November 10, 2015
Boyega was one of several cast members advocating Fleetwood's #ForceForDaniel campaign prior to him receiving the advanced copy of the film.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theaters December 18, 2015.
