Savage Dragon #188 Cover Revealed

Erik Larsen has released an in-progress version of the final cover for Savage Dragon #188, showing Malcolm Dragon and the Golden Age Daredevil squaring off against The Claw, one of Daredevil's most prolific enemies from the character's original publication run. With a logo that's reminiscent of Silver Streak Comics (the series in which The Claw first appeared), Larsen says that the cover is "another retro cover–not sure yet if I'll beat it up like some previous retro covers." Besides a few issues of Savage Dragon (like the recent bin Laden kaiju issue), Larsen has also worked on Crack Comics and other similar projects, taking Golden Age, public domain characters and continuing their stories. The character appeared in Silver Streak Comics for a while, then found himself facing off against Daredevil–after which point he migrated to the pages of that character's book and stayed there until his death. Years later, he would appear briefly in Captain Battle, Jr.'s comics, but those tales appear to have been ignored by Project Superpowers, and likely will be by Larsen as well, to pursue the more interesting narrative of his return from apparent death. Savage Dragon #188 is due for release in May.
