Lana and Clark from Smallville

With Twitter blowing up over the third Man of Steel trailer, it's comforting to know that even those who have spent a great deal of time in the company of the Last Son of Krypton aren't yet jaded. Enter Kristen Kreuk, who played Lana Lang on the long-running CW drama Smallville--who says she thinks the movie could be great. "I think Superman is a beautiful story," Kreuk told Zap2It. "Of all the superheroes I know about, because I do not claim to be an expert in that realm, he really represents morality and goodness and true humanity in the best of ways. I think the movie could be great." "Man of Steel's Lana Lang, meanwhile, will be played by Jadin Gould, who guest-starred on NBC's cult-hit Chuck, (Kreuk herself had a multi-episode arc on the series).  The article asked Kreuk what she thought of a new Lana coming on the scene, and the actress was very zen about the idea. "Every incarnation is different," said Kreuk. "This isn't the Lana Lang of Smallville, it's another one. Even when I take on a role, I'm not comparing it to others. It's a different character, a different project, a different version."
