Supergirl Casts Young Kara Zor-El

CBS has cast Malina Weissman as a young Kara Zor-El in Supergirl. Weissman played a young April O'Neill in 2014's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Whiplash's Melissa Benoist (seen in costume above) will play the adolescent Kara Zor-El in Supergirl. Weissman will guest star in the series' pilot, appearing during a flashback scene. Whether that scene takes place on Kyrpton or during Kara's early years on earth is unconfirmed.

Weissman joins former Supergirl Helen Slater and former Superman Dean Cain on the list of guest stars for the pilot, which is being put together by The Flash and Arrow's Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg, along with No Ordinary Family's Ali Adler. The Supergirl pilot is expected to air on CBS in the fall.
