Blade Runner 2049 Trailer Released Online

Finally, the long, long wait is over. The first official trailer for Blade Runner 2049 has been released online today.

The film takes place years after the original Blade Runner, which was released in 1982. The film followed Rick Deckard, a Blade Runner who is charged with tracking a group of lethal androids called replicants. Harrison Ford stars as Deckard, and goes toe-to-toe with Rutger Hauer as Roy Batty, the lead replicant.

Blade Runner 2049 follows a new agent, K (Ryan Gosling), as he searches for the missing Deckard. Check out the official synopsis below:

Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what's left of society into chaos. K's discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.

Harrison Ford will return to the franchise as Rick Deckard, to star alongside Ryan Gosling. Mackenzie Davis, Ana De Armas, Jared Leto, Robin Wright, Barkhad Abdi, Lennie James, and Dave Bautista are all also slated to star in the movie.

The film has been directed by Denis Villeneuve (Prisoners, Sicario), and was written by Hampton Fancher and Michael Green.

Blade Runner 2049 is the sequel to Blade Runner, the 1982 neo-noir science fiction movie inspired by Philip K. Dick's novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?

The film is set to debut on October 6, 2017.
