Anton Yelchin Leaves Behind Several Unreleased Films & Shows

When Star Trek Beyond warps into theaters, the death of Chekov actor Anton Yelchin will still be fresh in the minds of moviegoers.

Star Trek Beyond isn't the only project Yelchin was working on, though; some will likely end up having to be scrapped or to recast his parts, but it's likely that there are a few movies and TV shows out there yet where fans will get another look at the talented young actor.

Yelchin plays the lead in Netflix’s upcoming animated series Trollhunters from Guillermo del Toro and DreamWorks Animation, which premieres in December. Also appearing in the series alongside Yelchin are Kelsey Grammer and Ron Perlman.

Variety has a write-up on his other completed films, as well:

Yelchin had also recently completed filming Thoroughbred, a psychological thriller also starring Olivia Cooke and Anya Taylor-Joy. Cory Finley directs the film from a script based on his play about a tempestuous friendship between two suburban teenage girls.

He also recently completed filming on the sci-fi drama Rememory opposite Peter Dinklage. Variety describes the film as a story about a professor who mysteriously dies on the eve of releasing his life-changing invention.

He's also got two indie films that are in the can and just waiting for releases: the family drama We Don’t Belong Here opposite Being John Malkovich's Catherine Keener; and Porto, a romance-drama set in the titular Portuguese city.

Reports indicate that Yelchin was killed after being pinned between his car and a brick mailbox. The car was in neutral, with the engine running, when he was found. The driveway on the property is apparently on a steep incline.

No foul play is suspected, and it's unclear why the actor got out of the car.

Besides three Star Trek movies (including the forthcoming Star Trek Beyond), Yelchin is best known in fanboy circles for his roles in Terminator Salvation, The Smurfs, and Alpha Dog. The actor also played the title roles in Huff and Charlie Bartlett.
