The R-rated Marvel film from 20th Century Fox is expected to cap its 4-day weekend haul with $150 million. In doing so, it has garnered the attention of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who took to Twitter to congratulate Ryan Reynolds’ new film.
So cool to see #Deadpool‘s massive box office success. Very happy for RR & filmmakers. Way to switch it up on how superhero movies are made.

Johnson will be playing Black Adam in the upcoming Shazam! movie from Warner Bros. and DC Comics. Surely, Shazam! will seek to fulfill the same type of originality Deadpool did when it arrives in 2019, so perhaps The Great One is taking notes from Deadpool‘s success.
Deadpool is now playing in theaters. Shazam! is set for release April 5, 2019.
