The final full trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has arrived, and it’s chock full of excitement and goodness. In fact, there’s so much to take in that even the biggest Star Wars fans will need several viewings to catch everything in there.

Sure, you saw Darth Vader, and you got excited by that “Rogue One” call sign line, but did you see all the other little Star Wars Easter eggs in this trailer?
We combed through every moment, frame by frame, and found more than ten things you might have missed, some big, some small, but all fun for Star Wars fans.
X-Wings (and Y-Wings) in Flight!
Finally, we see X-Wings soaring through struts, along a planet, and in active battle inย Rogue One!ย It’s just thrilling to see those particular ships, and really helps tie this to the original trilogy. What’s more, in a dark and blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment, Y-Wings can also be seen flying into battle. Recently, we saw theย Star Wars Rebels crew steal a bunch of partially disassembled Y-Wings from an Imperial smelting facility, so it’s fun to think of that as a possible link to the film.
Rogue One Bowcaster?
Chirrut Imwe’s staff revealed it’s more than meets the eye in this trailer, opening up into a modified bowcaster – the weapon that Chewbacca carries (and packs a mean, explosive-bolt punch). Yes,ย this character is blind, but that particular style of weapon is so powerful it doesn’t seem to matter.
Death Star Laser Operator (Is That You Rian Johnson?)
Oh those classic, goofy helmets. What’s notable about this particular image isn’t just seeing this old look, but that Rian Johnson, director ofย Star Wars: Episode VIII and his assistant actually wore this costume and played the role of the Death Star’s weapon operators inย Rogue One cameos – is that one of them right there? Could be.
A Familiar Facility
The facility that Galen Erso is apparently being kept in looks very familiar. While it could be similar to many places in theย Star Wars universe, it bears a striking resemblance to the Sullust Platform map inย Star Wars: Battlefront the video game. Is that tipping us off to where he’s being held, or merely a common design in the Empire?
Go to Hyperspace
This shot of jumping to Hyperspace is a classic one for Star Wars especially with a pilot and co-pilot there. It just means adventure to fans of this franchise – something huge is about to happen when you see them jump to Hyperspace for the first time. It’s very evocative of Han and Chewie in the Millennium Falcon, and feels great to see here.
The Fall of the Jedi
We knew that Jedha is a religious spot to those who believe in the Force, gut this epic shot scanning over a fallen Jedi statue is just stunning. When was it built? When was the height of Jedha as a location for pilgrimage? I HAVE QUESTIONS.
It also ties nicely to Tarkin’s line inย A New Hope: “The Jedi are extinct. Their fire has gone out of the universe. You, my friend, are all that’s left of their religion.” Ah, symbolism.
RA-7 Protocol Droid
Threepio isn’t the only protocol droid in the galaxy, and the RA-7, a typically Imperial protocol droid, can be seen in the foreground of this shot. This model of droid debuted on the Death Star, so its an appropriate choice for this particular film. Another RA-7 model droid starred in a moving episode ofย Star Wars Rebels last season, choosing to turn away from the Empire after becoming friends with Chopper. The droid K-2SO in this film also abandons the Empire.
Bet you didn’t think that little robot in the corner of this shot had that many connections, did you?
That’s No Moon
The first ever shot of the Death Star was as a spectre in the background first mis-identified as a moon. Well, “that’s no moon,” but seeing it presented that way again is fun, and absolutely an intentional call back.
Vader’s Silhouette and a Celebration
Finally, fans who didn’t attendย Star Wars Celebration Europe get to see the first reveal of Darth Vader. What’s especially fun about this shot – a silhouette in a reflection – is that director Gareth Edwards told ComicBook.com he found it completely on accident, a result of building full 360-degree sets and constantly looking through cameras himself.
What’s fun about it in context of the movie is the idea that Darth Vader won’t be the main villain ofย Rogue One, but instead is lurking in the background of the events more often than not. It’s just as he is to the galaxy: a silhouette… a reflection. He’s a shadow, a terror. It’sย awesome.
The Rebel War Room
Well that’s a familiar shot, isn’t it?
You basically can’t have aย Star Wars movie without a group of Rebels, standing around a round table, talking about a Death Star. They made itย very obvious homage inย Star Wars: The Force Awakens, flat out mentioning the Death Star. What’s fun here is this is theย first time they’ve gathered this way – even if we’ve seen it before several times.
The Spire and the Horizon
Well, what could this shot of Galen Erso possibly be trying to evoke?
Yes, it’s a lone man looking out into the horizon with a mechanical spire next to him – it’s very clearly evoking one of the most famous shots in all ofย Star Wars history, as Luke Skywalker stood next to a Vaperator on Tatooine, looking to his future. The genius of this shot in the trailer: they even play “the Force theme” when they show this. It ties everything together, and with the next film chronologically being “A New Hope,” it shows that this was the last one.
