The actor starred in two Star Wars films as the younger Anakin Skywalker, telling the story of how the talented Jedi and "Chosen One" was turned to the dark side, becoming Darth Vader. The prequels are popularly derided, though they were financially successful at the time, with Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith also a critical hit, certified fresh with 79% positive reviews by RottenTomatoes, a review aggregator.

Christensen was born April 19, 1981 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He began acting on Canadian television at age 12, and was nominated for a Golden Globe and SAG Award in 2001's Life as a House.

His role as Anakin in Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith is by far what he's best known for, though he's appeared in several films since and has a production company with his brother. He has one child, a daughter named Briar Rose, with his longtime girlfriend actress Rachel Bilson, whom he met while filming Jumper.
