In the wake of Andrea’s death, the new image sees Carl paying his respects at her grave. Rick’s son is having a hard time saying goodbye to the woman who acted as his mother for years. Rick, on the other hand, is seen strolling through the community and observing as Alexandrians rebuild the community.

In the bottom panel of the preview, Paul “Jesus” Monroe is seen talking to an unknown character asking, “What do you have in mind?” Given his ability to settle disputes and take a level-headed approach to conflict, he can be talking to any number of people, ranging from Rick to Maggie or Negan.

Check out the preview below, written by Robert Kirkman and illustrated by Charlie Adlard.

This preview reveals very little about the upcoming issue which has been shrouded with mystery. Since Andrea’s death, Rick Grimes has been struggling with continuing as the leader of Alexandria and appears to wish for a break for the position. Interestingly enough, the former Savior leader and enemy number one to the Alexandria Safe-Zone, Negan, has stepped up and proven himself as a worthy fill-in for Rick.

The question remains, however, of whether or not Negan can actually be trusted.
