First Season of Hit New Medical Series Lands on Netflix (And It’s Perfect for Grey’s Anatomy Fans)

A new must-watch medical drama is scrubbing in at Netflix, and it’s perfect for Grey’s Anatomy fans. The long-running ABC medical drama has captivated audiences for two decades, and as fans await the October 9th premiere of Grey’s Anatomy Season 22, they can watch all 10 episodes of 2025’s breakout network medical drama after it joined Netflix’s streaming lineup in September just before its Season 2 return.

The 10-episode first season of Fox’s breakout medical drama Doc started streaming on Netflix on September 23rd, just hours before Season 2 premiered on Fox later that same day. The series, developed by Barbie Kligman and based on the Italian series Doc – Nelle tue mani, stars Molly Parker as Dr. Amy Larsen, an attending physician in internal medicine who suffers a brain injury that erases the last eight years of her memory. With no recollection of her patients, colleagues, or loves, she must rebuild her identity and career. Doc Season 1 joined Netflix’s streaming lineup less than a year after it premiered on Fox.

Why You Should Watch Doc

Marking Fox’s first medical drama since the end of The Resident in 2023, Doc has been a success in every sense of the word. The series averaged 2.7 million viewers across its first season and garnered a devoted fan base with a 75% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Although the series has earned much more mixed reviews from critics, with just a 46% Tomatometer score, fans continue to tune back in for the compelling blend of a high-stakes medical drama and emotional personal drama.

Parker shines in the role of Dr. Amy Larsen, successfully capturing her emotional journey of rediscovery and transformation, which itself makes for an incredibly investing premise. The supporting cast of Omar Metwally, Jon Ecker, and Amirah Vann is also strong and features great on-screen chemistry, their shifting relationships and dynamics as Dr. Amy Larsen rediscovers more of her past making the show highly engaging. The series as a whole is well-written and well-acted, serving as a great and rewarding comfort show that is easy to binge-watch in one sitting.

Where to Watch Doc Season 2

Doc Season 1 is already proving to be a hit with Netflix viewers and currently ranks No. 2 on the streamer’s Top 10 list. Unfortunately, fans won’t be able to catch the current season on the platform.

New episodes of Doc Season 2 air weekly on Tuesdays on Fox at 9 p.m. New episodes will be available to stream the next day on Hulu as part of Fox’s deal with the Disney stream, which gives Hulu in-season rights to all Fox series. It’s unclear when or if Season 2 will join Netflix. The current season is set to run eight episodes, with the Doc Season 2 finale currently scheduled to air on Fox on November 11th and stream on Hulu on November 12th.
