In last Thursday’s “The Lost Weekend” episode of Riverdale, after breaking up the fight between his son, Jughead, and Chuck, FP Jones (played Skeet Ulrich) headed toward his truck, but before the leader of the Southside Serpents could get in and take off, he was rudely stopped by Alice Cooper (played by Mädchen Amick). She calls him by his name, so it’s clear right off the bat that they know each other. But things get really juicy when the steely perfectionist asks FP what he’s doing “on this side of town.”

“Don’t act so high and mighty, Alice,” FP fires back. “You may not live on the Southside anymore, you may not dress like you’re from the Southside, but we both know the truth: Snakes don’t shed their skin so easily.”
Based on those remarks, it sounds like Betty’s mother is a former member of the Southside Serpents. Is that possible? “We just started the writers’ room for season 2 and we’ve been talking about that a lot,” EP Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa told EW. “What we learn in this episode is she’s from the Southside, but stepped out of it and cleaned herself up and became the perfect [mother]. We’re going to explore much more about what Alice’s backstory is both in this season and in season 2.”
Betty (Lili Reinhart) is slammed overseeing Homecoming and Reunion weekend, but Alice (Madchen Amick) wants her to help with the Jason Blossom investigation.Alice turns to Archie (KJ Apa) and Veronica (Camila Mendes) for help, but when Betty discovers they are working with her mom, she is not happy.After seeing his father FP (guest star Skeet Ulrich) start to clean up his act, Jughead (Cole Sprouse) wonders if it’s the right time to give him another chance.
Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) and Polly (guest star Tiera Skovbye) have both decided to go to Homecoming in Jason’s honor, until a revelation waylays their plans.Meanwhile, Fred (Luke Perry) and Mary (guest star Molly Ringwald) attend the Homecoming dance, leaving Fred to possibly reconsider the divorce.Ashleigh Murray and Marisol Nichols also star.
