Pokemon Go's Halloween event is coming, bringing with it a ton of new Pokemon.
Earlier today, Pokemon Go confirmed that five Pokemon from Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire would make their first appearance on October 20th at 12:00 PM PT. Shuppet, Banette, Sableye, Duskull, and Dusclops will be the first "Gen 3" Pokemon to appear in the game, although game developers promised that more would follow later this year.
However, the new Ghost-Type Pokemon aren't the only special Pokemon appearing in Pokemon Go this Halloween. A special Pikachu wearing a witch's hat will also appear during the event to lend the game a certain spooky atmosphere for the season.
Yesterday, Pokemon Go's game developers added the image assets for all the new Pokemon on its servers, which meant they were leaked online mere minutes later. In addition to the five Ghost-Type Pokemon and Pikachu, costumed versions of Pichu and Raichu also were added, confirming that the entire Pikachu line would once again have costumes to wear.
As with previous recent additions to the game, Pokemon Go also curiously added the Shiny Variants for the new Ghost-Type Pokemon as well. Before players get too excited, they should remember that Pokemon Go also added Shiny versions of all the Legendary Pokemon, which haven't been used yet.
If you want to get a sneak peek at what the new Pokemon look like in Pokemon Go, you can check out the gallery at the top of the page to see all the image assets. The image sizes are tiny, but players will probably get a better look tomorrow when the Halloween event goes live.
