Transformers: Age of Extinction is on track for the biggest opening weekend of the year so far, according to pre-release tracking, and is expected to bring in a huge gross at the international box office. The film is currently projected to have an opening weekend gross of $100 million, beating Captain America: The Winter Soldier's $95 million April debut.

As is tradition for Transformers movies, Age of Extinction will open just before the Independence Day holiday. Unlike previous Transformers films, Age of Extinction stars an entirely new human cast, with Mark Wahlberg replacing Shia LeBouf as the series' leading man. Michael Bay returns to direct his fourth Transformers movie.

In Transformers: Age of Extinction, an automobile mechanic and his daughter make a discovery that brings down the Autobots and Decepticons - and a paranoid government official - on them.

Transformers: Age of Extinction comes to theaters June 27.
