Pokemon Go's Solstice Event Finally Gives Players a Chance to Use Nanab Berries

Earlier this year, Pokemon Go added two new types of Berries to the game. The Pinap Berries were a big hit among players, since they could be used to double the amount of Candies you received for catching a Pokemon. The Nanab Berries, which prevents Pokemon from moving or blocking Poke Balls, were not so popular. While the game introduced lots of new movements for different Pokemon, most of them were easy enough for players to work around if they were patient.

However, some Pokemon Go players are finally getting some use out of their Nanab Berries thanks to the ongoing Solstice Event. One of the Pokemon appearing during the Solstice Event is Swinub, a little Ice-Type Pokemon that resembles a furry pig. While common in many areas, this is the first time that many fans, especially in tropical areas, are seeing the little Swinub in action.

Swinub is one of the Pokemon with a "unique" movement, in that it runs around in a circle when you encounter it. These spins are hard to predict and last a little bit longer than the usual scratches or bites Pokemon aim at trainers. Some fans have expressed frustration over Swinub's movements, to which it was quickly pointed out that they can be quelled with the rarely used Nanab Berry.

Swinub and other Ice-Type Pokemon will continue to appear through June 20th as part of Pokemon Go's Solstice Event.
