Nearly a couple of weeks back, Square Enix provided us with a new glimpse of Kingdom Hearts III, by way of a groundbreaking new trailer that showed off the latest combat additions to the game, as well as some of the villains you'll be going up against. However, it also hinted that we'll be getting another glimpse of the game soon enough, as a demo is being planned to debut during the D23 Expo next month in Anaheim, California.

While we're not sure what to expect from the new demo, Kingdom Hearts director Tetsuya Nomura recently did sit down with Famitsu to discuss expectations for it – and it sounds like fans are in for a treat.

First off, he discussed the timing of the demo's trailer release, as it debuted at the conclusion of a Kingdom Hearts concert, much to everyone's surprise. "The choice to show or not to show something is up to the ones making the conferences," he explained. "We just used the timing of the concert at the same time as E3 to announce it."

He also noted that the footage from the trailer was "only in the Hercules world," and just revealed a small portion of what the game was all about. He also said that the next trailer "will have a Japanese version and a North American version but the battle scenes were from an actual gameplay footage, so we couldn't make them exactly the same. It will look the same but if you compare them you will be able to see the differences. So I would like the core fans to look at both trailers."

If that's not enough, it sounds like the trailer that's debuting at D23 next month will be even bigger. "The editing of the D23 trailer is being finalized right now but I think that not only it will be longer than the orchestra trailer, it will also show some new elements that should meet everyone's expectations." And that could mean a glimpse at new worlds that are yet to come within the game.

Kingdom Hearts III doesn't have a release date at the moment, but it will release for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
