With Cho'Gath seeing some new life in the jungle, League of Legends players have quickly picked up on the power that the Void monster brings when he combines his ultimate, Feast, with the Gargoyle Stoneplate item to unleash some serious true damage. While such an instantaneous burst of damage can be frustrating to be on the receiving end of, it looks like there aren't any plans at the moment to change the interaction between the item and the ability.

This particular combo was one of the main points of discussion that Riot Meddler touched on with his recent Gameplay Thoughts where he devoted quite a bit of the post to the topic of Cho'Gath and his massive true damage output. Able to reach numbers of over 1,000 true damage later in the game by using Stoneplate, an ADC who gets chomped by Cho'Gath is either dead or needs to exit the fight pretty quickly to avoid being finished off.

But one of Cho'Gath's main weaknesses both before the buffs and after is his ability to be kited by the enemy team, something that Meddler said was considered when they were discussing the interaction even before Stoneplate launched.

"That's more true damage than we'd normally be happy seeing from a champ in a single ability," said Meddler, referencing the high true damage potential. "Cho's got some pretty pronounced weaknesses however, in particular his long cast times, lack of mobility and limited reliability. Between those and the need to build Stoneplate, be around 3+ enemy champs and get into Feast range we concluded it was appropriate to allow the Cho/Stoneplate interaction to exist. So far that's still our take on it at present too."

As Meddler commented, Cho'Gath certainly does have quite a few obstacles standing in his way. When it comes to getting in range. Flash, Righteous Glory, and the new slow that's applied by his Vorpal Spikes all help him achieve his goal of eating the squishier targets, but opponents have similar items, crowd control, and abilities to prevent him from doing so.

Meddler didn't' rule out overall changes to Stoneplate later on and said that Cho'Gath could prove to be too dominant in the future, but for now, the combo is planned to be kept as is.
