Dragon Ball FighterZ Has An Awesome Story Teaser Trailer

We knew that something new would be coming for Dragon Ball FighterZ this week, with Tokyo Game Show about to be in full swing. But little did we realize that we would be getting something that revolves around the story mode for the game.

But leave it to Bandai Namco Games to shock us with a teaser for the mode, which promises a rather epic story with a number of characters from the Dragon Ball universe, as well as a whole crap ton of robotic Gokus.

We can't quite make out everything that happens in the trailer, which you can see above, but here's the gist of what we kind of get.

The game appears to take place within the Dragon Ball universe, and it appears that there are a number of robotic models that have been built, based upon Goku. And there's a mysterious character lording over them all -- Android 21, who was designed by Akira Toriyama. She'll definitely be a force to be reckoned with over the course of the game.

And before you go saying, "Well, (insert favorite Dragon Ball character here) can easily lay waste to those robots!", not so fast. The later part of the trailer shows a number of these characters getting ready for battle, only for them to end up laying on the ground several seconds later. Even Gohan, with all his power and glory, is knocked down like nobody's business. So the force that they're going up against is far more powerful than anyone could've been expected.

There's a Dragon Ball FighterZ panel coming up this weekend, so there's a pretty good chance we'll get more details about the mode in just a few days. There is one thing we know, though – Toriyama is on board for character design. Now you know that Arc System Works means business. (As if playing through this past weekend's awesome beta didn't inform you of such a fact.)

Dragon Ball FighterZ will release in February 2018 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. Now if we can just get another beta to let us tussle with Android 21 and see what she can do...
