Earlier this week, we discussed potential details regarding the next big event for Overwatch, a Halloween themed one that offered a number of new costumes and goodies for players to unlock. But that led to an all-important question from the fans – "When can we get these tricks and treats?"

The good news is you won't have to wait long. The official Overwatch Twitter account revealed today that Halloween Terror 2017 will kick off starting on October 10th, and posted a teaser video showcasing a couple of costumes you'll be able to unlock during that time. This is just a small taste of the many outfits that will be available, so soak it all in.

Blizzard also marked the occasion with a poem, noting, "The nights grow cold, and monsters appear, a great evil gathers, and Halloween draws near…" This could also be hinting at new Halloween-themed modes that could be introduced to the game, though we don't have specific details just yet.

It's expected that the publisher will have more official information on the event leading up to its release date, giving fans a rough idea of what they'll be able to unlock for their collection. But if past events have provided any sort of indication, fans will have lots to unlock over the next few weeks.

Previous events, like the Year of the Dragon and the Christmas themed event from last year, have provided cool stuff for fans to unlock, so the Halloween oriented one should be no exception, and hopefully it'll stick around long enough for everyone to stack up their precious loot crates, so that they can get every bit of spooky goodness that they can lay their hands on.

We'll bring you more official information as it becomes available, but, yes, in just a few days' time, you'll be able to get into the Halloween spirit without running the risk of TP'ing your neighbor's house or setting dog poop on fire. But, yes, if you're up for it, you can still gorge on your candy corn while you clean house in the game. If that's your thing.

Overwatch is available now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
