Call of Duty WWII

So in case you missed the news a few days ago, there was quite a recent shake-up at Sledgehammer Games, the development team behind Call of Duty: WWII.

Michael Condrey and Glen Schofield, who served as directors of the game as well as studio heads for the team, have recently announced that they are departing the company in favor of taking up executive positions at Activision. Aaron Halon, a veteran that's worked for the company for years, recently stepped up as new studio head in their place.

Some fans may be confused over the departure, which is why Halon decided to address the matter personally with a letter posted on the Sledgehammer Games page. You'll find it in full below:

"Thank you from everyone here at Sledgehammer Games.

This is an incredible time for the studio. As Glen and Michael begin new chapters in their careers, I'm humbled by the opportunity to lead this amazing team of developers. Over the years, I've worn many hats here at the studio, which has allowed me to work side by side with some of the best talent in the business.

As a Call of Duty development studio, we have always been grateful for the chance to make games for the greatest fans in the world. Simply put, there's nothing else like the Call of Duty community, and I'm committed to staying focused on our fans as we continue to support Call of Duty: WWII well into the future. You are our inspiration and our motivation.

I thank Glen and Michael for their support, and their mentorship along the way. As great as our history has been at Sledgehammer Games, I feel we can go even higher, and that our best days are yet to come. Thank you.

Yours truly,

Aaron Halon"

Currently, Sledgehammer Games is hard at work on downloadable content for Call of Duty: WWII, and then, more than likely, it'll begin work on its new CoD game, which will likely come in 2020.

We wish Halon, Condrey and Schofield the best of luck on their new positions!

Call of Duty: WWII is available now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
