Several animation studios are heading to France to work on new projects, including Paramount, DreamWorks, Disney TV, and Marvel Animation. New tax credits offered by the French film commission, Film France, are drawing studios to animation houses there. Mikros Image, an animation studio in Paris, for example, is now working on projects for both Paramount and DreamWorks Animation.

But in the Film France release about nineteen projects being worked on in the country, they also mentioned (via Variety) two "Marvel Animation TV Shorts Series," Ant-Man and Rocket and Groot. Ant-Man comes from director duo Ugo Beinvenu and Kevin Manach, who have worked on several short animation projects. Check out their sizzle reel below (warning, some NSFW content in it):

Meanwhile, Rocket and Groot will come from Arnaud Delord. Delord and his Fortiche Productions studio have done work for several commercials, and a bunch of video game cutscenes and launch trailers, most recently the launch trailer for Wildstar, which features a small mammallian character wielding large guns, riding on the shoulder of a giant robot that even looks like he has some wood (see 2:33 in the below video) - so basically it was a pitch for a Rocket Raccoon and Groot short right there, wasn't it?

No word on when these will be completed and air, or even where they're planning to air them. If they're one-off shorts, they might air during the Marvel Animation TV blocks on Disney XD. They could also be included on future Blu-ray releases, or even air in front of films, the way Disney often does with Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar films. After all, we do have both Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 and Ant-Man and the Wasp on the way, so those two titles in particular would match up nicely.
