In hindsight, it shouldn’t be too surprising that Greninja won the election, as the Pokemon was featured in the latest Super Smash Bros game and is arguably the star of the current season of the Pokemon anime.

Coming in second place was Arceus, the “creator” of the Pokemon universe. In third place was Mew, the first mythical Pokemon ever introduced in the games.Pikachu, the face of the Pokemon franchise, finished in fourth place (which could indicate a case of voter burnout) and rounding out the top five was Sylveon, an Eevee evolution.Rounding out the top ten were a mix of Legendary Pokemon (Rayquaza, Zygarde), mythical Pokemon (Genesect and Meloetta) and Charizard.

Coincidentally, the election also revealed which Pokemon was the least popular.Coming in last place was Simisear, a Fire Type Pokemon introduced in Pokemon Black and White.
