5 Things You Never Knew About Broly
There’s one word out there that can send the Dragon Ball fandom into a tizzy, and it’s [...]
Broly’s Legendary Super Saiyan Form Is Stupidly Painful
Going Super Saiyan isn't the easiest thing in the world, but it also is not the worst. However, it does sound like transforming into the Legendary Super Saiyan is insanely painful. The form requires Broly to amass a large amount of ki, but the transformation doesn't just alter Broly's looks. No, it completely bursts a new person out of his skin. Before Broly goes Legendary, his cheeks, eyes, and chest shake before they get ripped open. The Legendary Super Saiyan comes out from within Broly, so it's no wonder the form looks so deadly.

Goku Has Recognized Broly Outside Of The Films

Dragon Ball has plenty of films to its name, but only a select few are considered canon by fans. None of Broly's outings are on the list, so fans might be surprised to hear that Goku has recognized Broly outside of his films - in video games, that is. In Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, Goku recognized Broly as someone from the series' main timeline. Broly is just as nasty in the game as he is in the movies, so it is a good thing that the franchise's games are not considered canon either.
prevnextBroly Is Hell’s Shiest Occupant
By the end of Dragon Ball Z: Bio-Broly, fans learn an important fact about the villain after he's defeated by Goten and Trunks. The Saiyan has been sent to Hell, but you'd have a hard time figuring that out. The man must be shy; How else can you explain his refusal to show up in Hell during other Dragon Ball Z films? The baddie has no part in Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn, but he does make a few escape attempts later on in Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai.

Where Is Broly’s Tail?
Universe 6 Saiyans may have evolved and left their monkey tails behind, but Universe 7 never had a chance to advance so far. Goku eventually got rid of his tail, but many Saiyans like Bardock and Nappa clung to their tails before being offed. According to Akira Toriyama's character designs for Broly, the character does have a tail, but fans never see his adult self with the appendage. It could be that Broly is wearing the tail as a belt, but fans are even skeptical about that.

Broly. Broccoli. What’s The Difference?
If you thought Broly was immune to Akira Toriyama's naming puns, then you better think again. The Dragon Ball franchise is rife with naming conventions that baffle the most eccentric minds. Bulma's entire family is named after undergarments, and all Saiyans derive their names from vegetables. Goku lucked out thanks to his protagonist status, but others did not. Vegeta comes straight from vegetable, Bardock relies on burdock, and Broly was picked from broccoli.
