Girls' Generation Member Involved In Car Accident

According to new reports, one of Girls' Generations members themselves involved in a car accident in Seoul. Singer Taeyeon became part of a three-car collision as the vehicle she was traveling in rear-ended a taxi.

According to the Gangnam Fire Station, Taeyeon's accident occurred while she was heading from Hakdong Station to Nonhyeon Station (via Soompi). It was then Taeyeon struck a taxi cab in front of her which caused the vehicle to then hit the car in front of it.

Not long ago, SM Entertainment released an official statement about the accident. The company, which represents Girls' Generation as well as other K-pop acts, apologized for the singer's so-called "careless driving."

"Today at 7:40 p.m. [KST] in the area of Nonhyeon-dong, while attending to personal business, Taeyeon was involved in a car accident through her own careless driving. She is very apologetic towards the other drivers and passengers and will work diligently to resolve the post-accident matters.

After dealing with the traffic accident, she has returned home safely without injuries. We apologize for having caused anxiety."

According to addition reports, Taeyeon did go to the hospital following the accident after complaining of chest pains. The singer was evaluated at the scene before she went to a local hospital with her manager. As for the accident's other drivers, they were taken to get hospital treatments as well.

Over on social media, fans from around the world are showing Taeyeon love as she recovers from the ordeal. The singer recently had a comeback wth Girls' Generation in August as the group released its song "Holiday." Taeyeon is now working on a comeback in honor of the upcoming holidays. The singer will released a Christmas album in December and host a solo concert in South Korea for fans.
