Netflix’s One Piece Season 3 Expands Alabasta With Major Cast Additions

One Piece is hard at work on bringing its third season of the live-action series to Netflix next year, and it’s filling out more of its new cast with some major new additions. One Piece is gearing up to have a massive year in 2027 with more of the TV anime, a reboot series, a new feature film release and more on the way. But thankfully that also will feature the return of the live-action series as it gears up for its third season adapting the Straw Hats’ biggest fight yet.

Netflix’s One Piece live-action series will be kicking off its third season with the streaming service next year, and will be making its way to Alabasta after all of the set up for the arc in the second season. There are going to be many more faces making their way to the live-action series for this new region, and four new additions to the cast have been announced as part of the One Piece Day 2026 worldwide streaming event this past weekend with a huge update.

Netflix’s One Piece Season 3 Adds New Alabasta Characters

One Piece: The Battle of Alabasta has confirmed four new additions to the cast that the live-action series will be introducing once Luffy and the Straw Hats make landfall on the titular island. These include Emilio Sakraya (Rheingold, Fortitude) as Koza, Omid Abtahi (The Mandalorian, American Gods) as Toto, Jamie Ward (The Gentlemen, His Dark Materials) as Pell, and Nabeel Khan (Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, Strike Back) as Chaka. Each of these faces will be a key recurring character in the new season too.

They join previously announced new additions for One Piece: The Battle of Alabasta such as Xolo Maridueña as Portgas D. Ace, Cole Escola as Bon Clay, Awdo Awdo as Mr. 1 and Daisy Head as Miss Doublefinger. It’s also been confirmed that Mikaela Hoover as Tony Tony Chopper, Charithra Chandran as Princess Vivi, Sendhil Ramamurthy as Nefartari Cobra, Lera Abova as Nico Robin, and Joe Manganiello as Sir Crocodile will be getting expanded roles in this third coming season too. It’s all going to be much bigger in this next season.

When Does Netflix’s One Piece Season 3 Come Out?

One Piece: The Battle of Alabasta is scheduled to make its debut with Netflix sometime in 2027, but a more concrete release date has yet to be announced as of the time of this writing. The second season revealed that Vivi was a princess fleeing from the country in an attempt to figure out what’s going on with Baroque Works’ takeover, and Luffy and the others promised to help her once they made their way to the mysterious desert kingdom. It’s the biggest arc in the live-action series thus far.

It’s Luffy and the Straw Hats’ first major fight in the Grand Line, and all of the build up for Baroque Works seen across the first two seasons have been building to this. It’s yet to be revealed if the live-action series will be continuing beyond this point with more episodes, but this would be a perfect place to bring it all to an original end if that’s the route Netflix decides to go with it. We’ll just have to see how it all works out.
