Spy x Family Confirms Exciting World-First Surprise Ahead of Season 3

Tatsuya Endo’s Shonen Jump+ hit, Spy x Family, will be returning with its third anime season on October 4th, 2025. While the manga is delving into some of the greatest mysteries in the series, the anime will continue its WISE Arc. There are still a few weeks before the third season’s official release, and news of promotional events is beginning to drop. Just last month, the series captured everyone’s attention with its adorable Summer Vacation Event, which featured four original illustrations of Anya Forger, and now there’s another update for some lucky fans.

According to Mantan Web, the series is holding a special screening on September 28th at Lawson United Cinema STYLE-S Minato Mirai (Nishi-ku, Yokohama). Episodes 1 and 2 will be played during the one-day screening to promote the upcoming season. Not only that, but the voices behind the Forger familyโ€”Takuya Eguchi (Loid Forger), Atsumi Tanezaki (Anya Forger), Saori Hayami (Yor Forger), and Kenichiro Matsuda (Bond Forger)โ€”will also be in attendance and interact with the viewers. The event will also be broadcast live at TOHO Cinemas Shinjuku (Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo) and several other locations. While the screening sounds exciting, unfortunately, it’s limited to Japan, but global fans should hear advanced reactions ahead of the release of the season.

Spy x Family Season 3 Will Be the Most Intense Anime Season Yet

The second season had a heartwarming ending after Loid and Bond went on a mission together and came back home. Continuing from that point on, Season 3 will feature some major plot developments with the Forger family in the middle of all the chaos. The second season has already commenced the WISE Arc, and the upcoming season will feature Loid’s heartbreaking backstory, as teased in the trailer.

We have only seen glimpses of his childhood before, but now the series will finally reveal Loid’s journey of becoming the best spy in Westalis. The series will also shed more light on the gruesome war between Westalis and Ostania, which makes this fragile peace all the more precious. Additionally, the upcoming season is also expected to adapt the Friendship Schemes, Red Circus, and Mole Hunt Arcs. We will be introduced to new characters, some of whom are directly tied to Operation Strix.

Season 1 was released in two parts, comprising 25 episodes in total, and Season 2 was released with only 12 episodes. Season 3 has yet to unveil its episode count, so there’s no way to determine which format it will take. If the episode count is higher than Season 2 and the pacing is steady enough, we may even get to watch the Term Finals Arc. The story is going to be even more intense after the WISE Arc as Loid faces several challenges to succeed in his mission.

You can catch up with the first two seasons on Crunchyroll and Netflix. The manga is available to read on the official app of Manga Plus and the Viz Media website.
