Sex Criminals and Manifest Destiny Sell Out Yet Again

The first issues of the smash Image Comics hits Sex Criminals and Manifest Destiny have sold out at Diamond Comics Distributors again, sending Sex Criminals back to press for a fifth printing and Manifest Destiny back for a third, Image Comics announced today. Rather than create another new variant cover, the company will reprint Sex Criminals #1 with the fan-favorite photo cover that depicts writer Matt Fraction and artist Chip Zdarsky getting their photographs taken with the first print of the comic in what appears to be a cheesy, 1980s-style studio photograph. On the cover, Zdarsky identifies himself as "The guy who talks to Applebee's on Facebook," a reference to a true-life habit of his that went viral recently. The publisher also noted that Chris Dingess and Matthew Roberts' critically-acclaimed Manifest Destiny #1 sold out its second printing immediately and will head into its third. The history/fantasy storyline is one of a few major launches from Robert Kirkman's Skybound imprint.

That book will get a new cover for the third printing, which you can see at left. Both are available to order through your local direct market comic book retailer now, and will be in stores in February.
