Look, we have about a MILLION questions after that full trailer (Like who are all the narrators? What does Rey find in the Star Destroyer? Does BB-8 belong to Rey or Poe at the start? What ship is flying away from Jakku? What’s the ship that Kylo Ren is on? Why is he obsessed with Vader? What planet is being blown up? What’s up with that giant red Droid?). But a million is a lot, and we don’t have enough time to write that all. So for now, here are the five biggest lingering questions we have after the new trailer. Let’s be clear, we don’t want answers until the movie comes out. Less than two months.

May the Force Be With You.

Who is Kylo Ren trying to turn/recruit?

We’ve known since Force Friday that Kylo Ren is trying to bring someone to his cause… but just who is it? The first thought was Rey, and the posters seem to support that – there she is, right in the middle, straddling the dark side and the light. But then there’s a direct confrontation with Finn, who is wielding a lightsaber, so maybe him? And then there’s this couple of seconds, where Ren is sinisterly touching a very in-pain Poe Dameron on the head. Basically, if you’re around Kylo Ren in this movie, it looks like you’re in trouble, and they’ve done an incredible job making him very scary while showing very little of him.

Why is the Force and Jedi Merely the Stuff of Legend?

“It’s true, all of it. The Dark Side, the Jedi, they’re real.”

That’s what Han says, apparently to Finn and Rey. But that begs the question: why was there any doubt? It seems that in the 30 years since the Return of the Jedi (both the movie and using that as an actual phrase), the Jedi and the Force have completely faded into the background. As we know from things like Star Wars Rebels, just because people don’t actively believe in the Force or listen to it, that doesn’t mean new Force sensitives aren’t born. And if the New Republic has been in power that whole time, why did they bury it, when the Rebel Alliance that founded it used “May the Force Be With You” as their warcry/slogan? Okay, so this one is like 5 questions in one.

Are These the Knights of Ren?

We’ve learned that Kylo is one of the Knights of Ren, and it looks like we get our first quick look at them here. These black-clad warriors are interesting for a couple of reasons, but the biggest is that it seems like only Kylo has a lightsaber, indicating that he’s a leader, for certain. Is he the only one with the Force, too though? Can’t wait to learn more about this mysterious order.

Is Finn a Jedi?

Right when Han Solo says the words, “The Jedi,” the shot lingers a moment on Finn. He, of course also wields a lightsaber. So is this the Jedi we’re looking for? Will Finn discover his connection to the Force? Or is it all a red herring, and he’s just using the lightsaber because it’s the only weapon he had on him, and someone else will be the new light side force user?

Why is Leia Crying?

If you’re a Star Wars fan, there’s no doubt this frame breaks your heart a little bit. Leia looks utterly despondent, and we just don’t know why. There are so many possibilities, and each of them hurts our hearts a little bit more. Don’t be sad, Leia. Don’t be sad.

Bonus: Seriously though, Where. Is. Luke. Skywalker?

Same question we asked with the poster, we’ll ask here: Where is Luke? Outside of the same clip from Teaser #2, showing nothing but his hand reaching out to R2-D2 in a full cloak, he’s once again AWOL – no shot of his face, no interaction with other characters, and no idea where he is. He is obviously, at this point, being held back for a reason. It should be quite the surprise to see what Luke has been doing all this time, and where he is in the galaxy, especially now that we know the Jedi have been reduced to legend.
