Man of Steel’s Michael Shannon Is Wearing an Aquaman Shirt…And Here’s Why That’s Funny

Alright, alright…it isn’t a real red carpet, but apparently a backdrop for studio interviews at TheWrap…but it’s still kind of funny, on account of that Aquaman t-shirt.

Not just becuase he’s wearing an orange t-shirt, but because remember: there have been rumors for a while now — and ComicBook.com has heard this one independently from our own sources — that Shannon’s General Zod will be what brings Aquaman to the surface world in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Specifically, Aquaman comes in response to Zod’s World Engine, seen above, which barrelled into the ocean using both energy projection and gravity attacks in an attempt to terraform Earth into a Krypton-like environment. It’s that attack which reportedly draws Aquaman to the surface world, after it does serious damage to Atlantis and kills the king.

And now Shannon is wearing an Aquaman t-shirt out there. Isn’t that kind of like putting a hunting trophy on the wall?
