We’re one month to the launch of Star Wars: The Force Awakens and the hype for the new film is steadily building. Luckily Gallery 1988 in Los Angeles is putting on a Star Wars themed art show that is filled with art inspired by all aspects of the Star Wars saga.

The art show features professional and emerging artists, and all pieces for the exhibit will be auctioned off for the Star Wars: Force for Change to benefit UNICEF Kid Power.

Director J.J. Abrams stopped by the gallery opening and gracious took pictures with many of the artists next to their pieces. Luckily, ComicBook.com was able to attend the event, and we took a lot of cool photos which you see can below.

From the official press release –

Five winners of the Art Awakens Fan Art Competition, chosen by a judging committee that includes members from Disney, Lucasfilm and the legendary visual effects house Industrial Light & Magic, will also have their art included in the gallery exhibit. The winners will also be flown out to Los Angeles to attend a VIP opening reception.

Original pieces will be up for auction on eBay from 11/13-11/23, while prints of select originals will be available for purchase on eBay from 11/13-12/12. Sales benefit UNICEF Kid Power, an innovative new program that uses the world’s first Wearable-For-Good to get youth physically active to provide lifesaving, nutrition-rich food packets to kids in need around the world in the name of Star Wars: Force for Change.

We could not be more excited to have been involved in this project for going on 3 years since our first meeting with Bad Robot about the possibility. We’ve now been a steering force on marketing campaigns for LOST, Breaking Bad and The Force Awakens, and to be able to involve charity in all three has been a dream come true. We hope to see you at this very special exhibit.
