The Wolverine has been one of the most mysterious movies of the summer. Unlike Iron Man 3 and Man Of Steel where buzz from early screenings leaked weeks in advance, very little feedback has been posted about The Wolverine online. Of course, with The Wolverine world premiere earlier today in London that is quickly starting to change. The first short reviews are starting to hit Twitter, and they appear to be mostly positive with a couple negative ones mixed in. The first long review has also surfaced, and it’s somewhat mixed. Here’s a roundup of Twitter reaction from people who attended The Wolverine world premiere.Boyd Hilton tweeted, “The Wolverine is essentially a James Bond film with The Wolverine instead of The James Bond. #theWolverine.”Daniel tweeted, “The Wolverine was excellent, very intense yet still jolly good fun. #TheWolverine.”Matt Risley of TotalFilm tweeted, “The Wolverine is the best Wolvie film comic fans could have hoped for. I’m as surprised as you are. That said, I have a feeling that non-comic fans will think something different. Still, I loved it.”Dana Victoria tweeted, “Watching #Wolverine and actually quite enjoying it…. #didntexpectthat.”Celluloid Heroes tweeted, “Finally! After countless false starts, The Wolverine is the one we’ve been waiting for.”Mark Clark tweeted, “A lot of gut-stabbing, and a fair amount of gut-wrenching, #TheWolverine could be the superhero film of the summer.”RetroGamerWa’el tweeted, “I actually liked #TheWolverine more than #ManOfSteel. It’s ok to let your inner beast out sometimes! : )”Robbie Collin of the Daily Telegraph tweeted, “Would you be astonished if I told you The Wolverine was actually pretty good? Well, you’d be right, because it’s absolutely dreadful.”In the first long review of the film, Pierce Conran of Twitch Film wrote, “Jackman is on form, Mangold lends his solid if uninspired directing style and there’s a great Kurosawa reference, but the film lacks the punch it needs. By aiming a little too high and not quite meeting its promise, The Wolverine is a slight disappointment.”The Wolverine is scheduled to open at movie theaters in the United States on July 26, 2013.
