When DC Entertainment Chief Diane Nelson listed the top five DC Comics properties that she would like to see on the big screen next, she surprisingly did not include Wonder Woman on that list. However, when specifically asked about Wonder Woman by The Hollywood Reporter, Nelson revealed that either a Wonder Woman movie or TV show is a top three priority for Warner Bros.Diane Nelson said, “We have to get her right, we have to. She is such an icon for both genders and all ages and for people who love the original TV show and people who read the comics now. I think one of the biggest challenges at the company is getting that right on any size screen. The reasons why are probably pretty subjective: She doesn’t have the single, clear, compelling story that everyone knows and recognizes. There are lots of facets to Wonder Woman, and I think the key is, how do you get the right facet for that right medium? What you do in TV has to be different than what you do in features. She has been, since I started, one of the top three priorities for DC and for Warner Bros. We are still trying right now, but she’s tricky.”Since Nelson didn’t list Wonder Woman on her top five movie list, could it be that Warner Bros. is pushing Wonder Woman more in the TV direction? Or could it be that a Wonder Woman movie is already pretty much a done deal so Nelson was looking past it when she listed her top five? It’s interesting that she indicated Wonder Woman was a top three priority, because it raises the question of what the other two priorities were. Our guess would be that the first priority was rebooting Superman, which was successfully accomplished with Man Of Steel. And our guess is another priority would be putting together a Justice League movie, but would Wonder Woman come before or after Justice League on the top three priority list?
