Barry Allen’s back, but it may not be the version of the character you wanted to see. In fact, the worst of all the Barry Allens could be returning this fall.

The CW released a teaser trailer for all of the Arrowverse shows premiering this fall, and one shot features Barry in his Flash costume talking to Iris West. While a conversation between the two is normally exciting for fans, it doesn’t seem to be the real Barry chatting with the love of his life.
The suit Barry is wearing is the one worn by 2024 Barry, not the suit worn by Flash in the current timeline. This could mean trouble is brewing in the world of the The Flash.
Now, that being said, there are a couple of ways this suit might not mean bad news for the series.
First of all, some are speculating that this conversation isn’t actually real, and it’s a figment of the Speed Force. This is definitely a solid theory, but it would mean Barry isn’t free and clear just yet.
On the other hand, the current Barry could’ve just gotten a new suit. After all, fans did seem to like the comic-accurate style of the 2024 costume.
Either way, it’s safe to assume that things going on with The Flash aren’t what they seem.
The Flash will premiere on October 10th at 8 p.m. and Legends of Tomorrow will follow at 9.
