The games maker announced a new partnership with DC Comics on their website, and the result of that partnership will be Justice League: The Board Game (via ScreenRant). The new game will be a true board game, as opposed to the more miniatures focused gameplay of HeroClix, the deck building mechanics of the DC Deck Builder, or the dice combat of Dice Masters, but it will involve facets of all three of those popular experiences.

Justice League will be playable with 2 to 6 players (co-op or versus), and will be split into missions, with each mission involving several chapters. The missions themselves will take inspiration from some of the more popular Justice League stories, and you’ll complete the chapter by knocking out one of the several objectives within it.

From the announcement, the game will split you into two teams, and it does seem like you’ll be able to pick the villains to play as, including Joker, Cheetah, and Black Manta, though that could just be a result of an unclear translation. As for the heroes, you’ll be able to pick from Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Green Lantern, or The Flash, and you’ll take on foes like Darkseid and Lex Luthor.

How the mechanics will exactly work is unclear, but in the announcement the developers refer to mechanical control, which could translate to a grid-based system, and they also reference utilizing resources, so there could be multiple components to keep track of. ScreenRant also mentions that dice will most likely be involved.

Abba will reveal more information about the game around the time they launch the Kickstarter Campaign, which should go live sometime later this year.
