Most of the footage from Suicide Squad has revolved around characters like Deadshot (Will Smith), Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), and The Joker (Jared Leto). Even Amanda Waller (played by Viola Davis) has managed to get some substantial trailer time.

Rick Flag (played by Joel Kinnaman) works directly with Waller in trying to keep the Suicide Squad in line, but if you're like me, you probably assumed that he was completely on board with the plan, being the good solider and all. In a new clip from the film, that doesn't seem to be the case.

Flag and Waller are meeting inside her office, seemingly at odds about something, when she puts a cell phone on the desk.

"There you go, call her. But without you minding her your lady friend stays here strapped to a board in a drug-induced coma."

That doesn't sit well with Flag, but rather than becoming angry he looks a bit defeated.

"They warned me about you. My dumbass didn't believe the stories.

Waller then concludes "Nobody does."

The scene gives fans a brief glimpse into their strained partnership and paints Waller as the manipulating genius she is in the comics.

While there are still many who can't wait to see the film, it hasn't received the early praise I'm sure Warner Bros. was hoping for. It has a rather low rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and while reviews have praised individual performances in Suicide Squad, they have also lamented the film's plot and storyline.

Suicide Squad debuts in theatres on August 5th.
