A new patch for LawBreakers is now out that makes big changes to the role limits in quick play in addition to plenty of bugfixes.

The update is currently live for both the PlayStation 4 and the PC versions, and while the key changes included in the patch are shared between the two platforms, each version has its own series of bugs that have been resolved. Out of all the changes, the biggest difference after this patch is that quick play matches now have a 2-role limit in each game. This means that you won't have to worry about running into a whole squad of one role, but it also means that players will have to choose a bit more carefully when building their teams.

"We've heard a plethora of feedback from both sides of this topic, and ultimately we've decided that the game is simply a lot more fun without role stacking," the patch notes read. "One of our main goals with this change is to increase the variety of gameplay you'll encounter, both in terms of enemy types you'll face as well as sometimes needing to switch off of your main role. We also want to reduce a lot of the frustration that comes with playing against stacks - if you've ever run into 5 Juggernauts defending a Blitz goal you know what we mean."

Below are all of the core changes that shipped with the patch that's now live:

New Additions:

  • New Map Variant – Promenade at night!

  • New Feature – Role limits now set to 2!

  • New Feature – Kick decals can now be imprinted on the world!

  • New Feature – XP Bonus Tracker shows active streaks and bonuses in main menus.

Map & Mode Changes:

  • Blitzball Mode –
    • Increased the radius for reducing the Blitzball shield from 850 → 1000.
  • Overcharge Mode –
    • Increased the radius for reducing the Battery's shield from 750 → 850.
    • Increased contest radius for the Battery to 1000.
    • Changed contest area shape from a sphere to a cylinder for better contest detection.
  • Uplink Mode –
    • Increased the radius for reducing Uplink shield from 750 → 850.
    • Increased contest radius for the Uplink to 1000.
    • Changed contest area shape from a sphere to a cylinder for better contest detection.
  • Trench –
    • Added collision to the top of the the central zone (above capture point B) so that Harrier's can now throw their Supercharger Stations up there. Other projectiles should behave more consistently as well.
