We still have a long way to go in the way of solid details about Infinity War‘s story and characters and twists. Before we get all the facts about what the movie will be, let’s discuss what we want to see. There has been a whole Infinity Saga storyline within Marvel Comics over the years, and they’ve given us some pretty fun elements that can be adapted into the Avengers: Infinity War storyline.
Here are 5 Ideas From Marvel’s Infinity Comics We Want to See in Avengers: Infinity War.
Honorable Mention: Nebula Rising
This isย something Marvel fans have been jazzed about, ever since Karen Gillan’sย Nebula was added to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.ย
In the originalย Inifintyย Gauntletย comic book, Nebula is punished severely when Thanosย gains omipetence, after betraying him. Broken and rotting, Nebula still manages toย seizeย a moment of weakness on Thanos’ part and take the Infinity Gauntlet for herself. There’s an iconic drawing of Nebula’s rise to omnipetenceย – but the glory is fleeting. Nebulaย is tricked by Thanosย and the Marvel heroes into bringing down the cosmic entities of the universe onto her head.ย

Domestic Thanos
One of the more interesting things about Marvel’sย Infinity Saga is what it reveals about the character of Thanos. He’s not just a some archvillain, but rather a nicely layered and complex character, whose villainy is often just a skewed perspective on what is right and orderly.ย
Part of getting to know Thanosย during The Inifinityย Saga is seeing The Mad Titan behind the scenes, in his domestic setting. He chills, he drinks – he even farms! And luckily for Marvel fans, someย Avengers: Infinity Warย concept art already suggests that we’ll get to see Thanos’ domestic side!ย
ย
Mass Death
As stated, what makes Thanosย an interesting villain is his skewed morality. The Mad Titan believes that the universe is in chaos, and that the only way to save it and restore true order is to exterminate half of life in the univese. Which he does. It doesn’t last, of course (the heroes win), but there is a lot of death and killing before they do.ย
Inย Avengers: Infinity War, we want to see Thanosย serve death proudly – and achieve his ends. That includes the initial destruction of half the universe – but especially the pivotal moment where Thanosย murders nearly every major Marvel hero in battle.ย
Evil Twin Invasion
The second installment of the Infinity comics was also titledย Infinity War, and that war was fought using a very specific type of soldier: monstrous evil dopplegangersย of the Marvel superheroes.ย
There was once a rumor thatย Avengers: Inifnityย Warย could use an evil twins approach to its story – and while unsubstantiated, we hope that it turns out true for at least one of the two installments. It would give the actors something fun and new to play, and add a nice horror movie element to things, in the spirit of John Carpenter’sย The Thing.ย
Cosmic Intervention
Some of the coolest moments of the Infinityย Saga come whenever the major cosmic entities of the Marvel Comics Universe decide to intervene in the conflict. Key twists with the Infinity Gauntlet (or other powerful MacGuffins) have come with decisions or actions taken by entities like Eternity or The Living Tribunal.ย
Inย Avengers: Infinity War, we want to see the major MCUย cosmic entities enter the fray – especially when we already have soft confirmations that characters from the classic Infinity Gauntletย comicย are alreadyย in the MCUย (Tribunal, Eternity, and even Mephisto).ย
The Purging of Adam Warlock
Marvel fans have been waiting for Adam Warlock to be introduced to the MCUย for some time, and are still expecting to see him by the time bothย Infinity Warย films are done.ย
Not only do we want to see Adam Warlock in theย Avengers Infinity Warย film(s), also want to see the pivotal moment when, in effort to purge himself, Warlock splits his light and dark sides into separate entities, known as the Magus and The Goddess.ย
After Thanos, the MCUย will need a new overarching story and some overarching villains to aspire to. Adam Warlock’s personal drama is something that could definitely fuel it through next few phases.
