The Marvel Cinematic Universe has dozens of characters, but there's one fans want more of. Hawkeye is a member of the Avengers, but the sharp-shooter seems to get the shaft when it comes to scenes. With so many superheroes, Hawkeye struggles to get his due time on the big screen; However, it doesn't look like the guy would fair much better on the small screen.
Fans have asked Marvel Studios for some time to bring Hawkeye to a place like Netflix for his own series, but Jeremy Renner doesn't think such a thing could happen. The actor did a recent interview with We Got This Covered, and it was there the Marvel star said a standalone show for his character is not an option.
"It's not a decision I get to make. It's not an option that has been on the table ever," Renner stressed.
Still, it does seem as if the actor is interested in exploring the character a bit more. "Any way I get to explore the Clint Barton/Hawkeye character is always interesting to me," Renner said.
This is not the first time Renner has been asked whether he'd be interested in bringing Hawkeye off the small screen. The actor told attendees at Silicon Valley Comic Con last year he would be open to such a project.
"I think that's actually a really great model, if there's ever a way to explore the character, maybe it's in that world," Renner said, nodding to Netflix's expanding Marvel series.

"These are things that are really not in my control, but I'd be open to it. I've really enjoyed getting to explore the character more recently. The Netflix model is where all the character drama goes to now, you're doing a superhero movie or a Netflix or HBO kind of model. So I'd be open to it. Not up to me, though."
Fans may be interested in learning more about Hawkeye, but it doesn't seem like Marvel Studios is keen to do such a thing on Netflix. However, it does look like the next Avengers movies will expand on the hero's past. Renner told Collider earlier this month he "can't wait to see" what Marvel comes up with for Hawkeye in Avengers 3 & 4.
