Are you ready for the Spirit of Vengeance? Well, it looks like Ghost Rider fans should be getting ready then. The newest iteration of Ghost Rider is coming to Agents of SHIELD this fall, and what's more, Marvel Comics will also be relaunching the Ghost Rider in November. Just, don't expect to see Johnny Blaze and Mephisto popping up anywhere.

Titled Ghost Rider, TVGuide.com is exclusively reporting that the new series will be penned by Felipe Smith and have its interior art completed by Danilo Beyruth. Tradd Moore, who helped Smith originally create the newest Ghost Rider character, will provide the background story for Marvel's first issue when it launches.

For those who aren't aware of Smiths' Ghost Rider, the supernatural hero is now incarnated in the Mexican-American teen Robbie Reyes. Introduced through Marvel NOW, Robbie started off as a part-time mechanic who was eager to earn enough money to get him and his disabled brother Gabe out of their run-down neighborhood. However, after a street race gone wrong, Robbie finds himself imbued with the lingering spirit of Eli, a dead serial killer who wishes to avenge his death.

So, rather than the Spirit of Vengeance, fans will get something a little more sinister. "Prior Ghost Riders were compelled to do good," Smith said. "Robbie makes the choice to do good things, because it's the spirit who compels him to kill."

Of course, Smith is the world's leading authority on all things Robbie Reyes. The creator has spoken openly about the care he putting into creating the hero, and Marvel's EIC Axel Alonso is thrilled to have Smith working with Robbie once more. "We were waiting for Felipe's schedule more than anything," he said, speaking to TVGuide.com about bringing Smith back. "I would have loved to have launched it sooner, but he has a prosperous career in animation, we needed the time to carve it up and do it right."

With Agents of SHIELD set to incorporate the character into its upcoming season, Robbie Reyes is about to get a major publicity push. Even Smith said he was surprised to learn of Ghost Rider's impending TV debut, saying he was shocked to see Robbie's hellish '69 Dodge Charger Smith at San Diego Comic Con. But Smith says he's excited to see how the character will translate on-screen.

"Fans of the comics will be happy with what's going on, on the show," Smith said. "And I hope fans of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will welcome Robbie and check out our books."
