Who is Danny Rand? If you're asking yourself that question, then it's time you caught up with Iron Fist. The beloved Marvel character is gearing up to make his small screen debut on Netflix next year, and New York Comic Con has brought fans a new poster hyping the hero's solo series.
Creating by Joe Quesada, the concept art poster was just revealed in a Facebook video. The short clip shows the concept art design process of the hero as he takes on different stances. Fans can also see the character's fist glowing a bright yellow, nodding at Iron Fist and his capabilities to channel Chi. The video then ends with the poster for the series as the logo for Iron Fist, Netflix, and Marvel all make their way onto the screen. Similar posters were created for Daredevil and Luke Cage ahead of their premieres and can be found in our photo gallery below!
This isn't the first artwork for the series that's been released today. At NYCC, attendees could get their hands on a variant cover edition of Marvel Premiere #15 that features Iron Fist artwork. Created by Jay Anacleto and Romulo Fajardo, the two artists created a rather impressive image of Iron Fist. The artwork used actor Finn Jones as inspiration and draws the hero based on his visage.
Ahead of Comic Con, Marvel Television took time to get fans excited for the series and its upcoming updates. The company shared an announcement trailer for Iron Fist which shows smoke forming in the shape of Danny Rand's dragon tattoo. The trailer also confirmed the series would be released on March 17, 2017. Fans were also treated to a behind-the-scenes look at Finn Jones playing Danny Rand. The set photo showed the actor filming an intense fight sequence as he prepares to knock out an unknown henchmen. Behind him, fans could see unconscious bodies littered on the floor, no doubt signaling that Iron Fist had just finished kicking serious butt.
NYCC is the latest event that has debuted big reveals about the much-anticipated series. At San Diego Comic Con, Marvel Television released a teaser trailer for the show that showed fans its logo. The video begins with a younger Danny Rand sitting on an airplane with his parents before it crashes. The footage then shifts to an injured Danny on snow-covered ground as two monks find him. Then, the teaser shifts to present-day New York City with Danny walking down the street. And, what's more, the video ends with a close-up of Danny as someone greets him, saying, "Hello, Danny."
In Marvel's Iron Fist, Danny Rand returns to New York City after being missing for years, trying to reconnect with his past and his family legacy. He fights against the criminal element corrupting his world around him with his incredible kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist.
