For those who follow the talented creator on Twitter, you already know he’s started a countdown of sorts, starting at the 25-day mark, where he posted a picture of himself next to Cage actor Mike Colter. The following day he posted another picture, this one from the actual set of the show. It features Colter standing outside on the street, looking pretty upset about something.

The show will not only feature the character’s rise to prominence, but it will also feature a soundtrack worthy of its protagonist. Coker recently touched on this aspect of the show, and how much the show draws from Hip Hop history.
“All the episodes are named after different Gang Starr songs, so like this one is Soliloquy of Chaos, the first one is Moment of Truth, I mean, it’s all kind of influenced like that. One of the things I was explaining is like the speed of Hip Hop. It happens at the speed of thought so if you really ran into Luke, and then all of a sudden, boom, there’s gonna be a beat. That’s all it takes.”
Luke Cage hits Netflix on September 30th, but in the meantime, you can catch up on some of the hero’s most essential stories here. Make sure to check out our Luke Cage hub here.
