The Paramount+ streaming library is a revolving door of fresh titles. Every month, the streamer adds new movies and TV shows to its content catalog, and September 2025 is no different. The past few weeks have seen everything from The Addams Family to the premiere of Tulsa King Season 3 join Paramount+. As fans of an iconic horror franchise await the anticipated new installment next year, Paramount+ is now also streaming three of the best movies from the film series.

Paramount+ began streaming the first three Scary Movie films on September 1st. The iconic horror comedy films, led by Anna Faris as Cindy Campbell and Regina Hall as Brenda Meeks, parody popular horror movies. Directed by Keenen Ivory Wayans and written by Marlon and Shawn Wayans, who also starred, the first two movies spoofed horror films such as Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Halloween, The Exorcist, Poltergeist, and Stigmata. Scary Movie 3, which marked the first without the Wayans Brothersโ involvement, spoofed movies such as The Ring, Signs, and 8 Mile. The final two franchise installments, 2006โs Scary Movie 4 and 2013โs Scary Movie 5, are not available on Paramount+ but can be streamed for free on Tubi.
Why You Should Watch the Scary Movie Films
The Scary Movie films are horror parody at its best. The meta-humor movies blend scares and laughs by spoofing popular horror films from their particular period that directly reference and poke fun at horror tropes and conventions, all while still telling a story that will have viewers invested and laughing out loud. Although the movies staggered in quality in later installments, the earlier additions reached mainstream and commercial success and helped cement the franchise as a cultural phenomenon that is still known and loved to this day.
The first three Scary Movie films are streaming on Paramount+ at the perfect time. The movies are not only staple viewing during the Halloween season, meaning anyone putting together scary movie marathons can now add three more titles to the list, but theyโre also streaming ahead of the June 12, 2026, theatrical release of Scary Movie 6. Faris and Hall are set to star in the upcoming movie, which is written by the Wayans Brothers alongside Rick Alvarez. Plot details havenโt been released, but Marlon recently told ComicBook that the film could potentially spoof recent horror hits like Heretic, Longlegs, Get Out, Nope, and Sinners.
Other Horror Movies Now on Paramount+
The first three Scary Movie films are just a few of the horror titles newly streaming on Paramount+ as part of the streamerโs September 2025 content lineup. As of September 1st, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, The Last Exorcism Part II, The Ring, The Woman in Black, and World War Z are streaming on the platform.
The list of September arrivals also made titles from the Blade, Friday the 13th, and Scream franchises available to stream, as well as more family-friendly spooky options such as The Addams Family and Addams Family Values.
