Batman V. Superman packed a whole lot of lines into its 151 minute run time as it introduced several DC Comics heavy hitters to the big screen together.
Be warned, we’re about to run through our five favorite lines from Dawn of Justice so that obviously means major spoilers for the film. If you haven’t seen it yet, stop here! Run to your closest theater and come back to see if you agree!

Problems

Lex Luthor was an ego-centric, psychotic, and calculated villain. On top of all of those, he had a childish energy to him throughout the film. Just as Superman flew up to the top of the LexCorpย building to find him, Lexย declared, “Boy! We’ve got some problems up here!”
It was a fantastic delivery. One which showed off Eisenberg’sย acting chops and Luthor’sย maniacally traits.
After revealing that he had Martha held hostage at a location unknown to himself, Lexย forced Superman to take on Batman.ย
“Now, God bends to my will,” he concluded.
Be Their Hero
ย
Though some fans may disagree with Martha Kent’s views on Clark’s responsibilities, her motherly speech to her super son was nothing but lovable.
“Be their hero, Clark. Or be none of it,” she said, concluding, “You don’t owe this world a damn thing.”
Not only was she right – Superman is not from this world in the first place and on top of that the human race treated him with nothing but hate and disrespect.
Martha wisely left the option their for Clark to do whatever he wanted, knowing he would do what was best for himself and the ones he loved.
It’s The Cape
Just after Batman saved Martha Kent from her horrendous hostage situation, she looked up at him with surprise plastered on to her face.
Batman assured it it was okay, saying, “I’m a friend of your son’s.”
She had already surmised as much, adding, “I figured… The cape.”
It was a rare lighthearted, cheerful moment in a very dark film.
I Believe You
In a moment ripped straight from the page’s of The Dark Knight Returns, Batman put downย Lexย Luthor’sย menacing,ย scarfacedย henchman and freed Martha Kent.
It’s always good to see the movies pay homage to the comics especially when they mirror the original content this closely. A man with a gun threatened Batman in Frank Miller’s comic, telling him, “Believe me! I’ll kill a kid!” to which Batman responded, “I believe you,” before putting him down.
In this case, the man was threatening to kill Martha Kent, but Batman still believed him.
The Bell’s Been Rung

To cap off the movie, Zack Snyder didn’t put a teaser scene after the credits or anything like that.
Instead, a tease of things to come was made by the film’s villain, Lex Luthor.ย
Batman showed up at Lex’sย jail cell to threaten him, saying wherever Lexย goes and whatever he does, Batman will be watching.
Lex’sย response was quite chilling, though. Now, with Superman dead, Lexย claims that aliens from all of the other planets and galaxies know about Earth and that their mighty defender has fallen. “The bell’s been rung,” he cried out. “He’s coming!”
