Star Magazine is reporting that Ben Affleck was injured on the set of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice on August 9.

The report states that Affleck left the set after straining his body performing a complex move involving his left shoulder.

"It was hurting him pretty bad," a source tells the magazine. "He's putting his all into this role and it's pretty physically demanding. The trips to the gym are two, sometimes three times a day and on set he's like a machine."

Affleck was seen filming on the streets of Detroit just two days later, but an insider tells the magazine that he's been advised to take things slow for a while.

"This injury was his first and most painful while shooting," the source told the magazine. "Ben can act, but has been put on temporary hold from doing any stunts for a few days. That is, until the doctor gives him the OK to start again."

Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice is scheduled for release March 25, 2016.
