Marvel Studios has released a new character poster for Captain America: The Winter Soldier featuring The Falcon. The poster shows Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson in full Falcon attire, looking like he's ready for action. The poster was released via Twitter with the status update "Falcon takes flight on the brand new poster for #CaptainAmerica #Winter Soldier, hitting theaters April 4, 2014!" In Captain America: The Winter Soldier, The Falcon is a paramilitary soldier specially trained in aerial combat. In the Marvel Comics universe, The Falcon is a former Avenger who is a close friend of Steve Rogers, with the two having spent some time as partners, even sharing a comic book series called Captain America and the Falcon. The Falcon is an important character in comic book history, as he was the first African-American superhero in mainstream American comics. In Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world and battles a new threat from old history: the Soviet agent known as the Winter Soldier. Captain America: The Winter Soldier arrives in theaters April 4, 2014.
