USA Today has shared a new still (view below) from Sony's Passengers, the highly-anticipated sci-film starring Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy) and Jennifer Lawrence ( X-Men: Apocalypse), to go along with an interview they conducted with its director, Morten Tyldum (The Imitation Game). During which, Tyldum shared new details about Pratt and Lawrence's characters, Jim and Aurora, respectively.

Both of them want to leave Earth behind, so they, along with 5,000 other passengers, board a spaceship that sets sail for a new planet. Jim is mechanic and can only afford "the cheap ticket" for the journey, and Aurora is a New York writer who is "trying to get away from her past a little bit."

The film is a romance, a love story, and also about forgiveness. So, how is the chemistry between the two leads? "When you're doing a love story, you're most afraid that the actors playing the couple won't like each other. But they became so close and work so well together," Tyldum said. "They have the same quick sense of humor and they're both phenomenal actors, so there are sparks between them, which is what you want."

The cast also features Michael Sheen (Masters of Sex, Frost/Nixon), Laurence Fishburne (The Matrix trilogy, Man of Steel), and Aurora Perrineau (Jem). It's being directed by Morten Tyldum (The Imitation Game) and was written By Jon Spaihts (Prometheus, Doctor Strange). The film is produced by Neal H. Moritz, Stephen Hamel, Michael Maher, and Ori Marmu. David Householter, Ben Browning, Jon Spaihts, Lynwood Spinks, Bruce Berman, Greg Basser, and Ben Waisbren serve as Executive Producers.
