The first teaser trailer for Pixar's Incredibles 2 proved that, after 13 years, audiences couldn't wait any longer to see the super family's return. Since its debut on Saturday afternoon, the trailer has earned over 113 million views, making it the most-viewed trailer for an animated film of all time.

Not only does that staggering number of views make it the most-watched animated movie trailer ever, but also places it in the top 10 trailer debuts of all time.

In the new film, "It's a tough transition for everyone, made tougher by the fact that the family is still unaware of baby Jack-Jack's emerging superpowers. When a new villain hatches a brilliant and dangerous plot, the family and Frozone (voice of Samuel L. Jackson) must find a way to work together again — which is easier said than done, even when they're all Incredible."

Craig T. Nelson and Holly Hunter will also be reprising their roles for the upcoming film.

The original film was written and directed by Brad Bird and was released the year after Finding Nemo and the year before Cars. With it being sandwiched between two hugely successful films that appealed to younger audiences, Incredibles left the public's consciousness rather quickly. The film was also the first Pixar feature to receive a PG rating due to "action violence."

In the time since its release, multiple of Pixar's biggest films have gotten sequels, ranging from Toy Story to Monsters Inc. to Finding Nemo.

Despite the film not capturing young audiences' attention like movies about talking cars or fish, the film has gained a passionate following amongst kids and adults alike, making it one of the most anticipated Pixar projects currently announced.

Following his work with Pixar, Bird went on to create the live-action films Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol and Tomorrowland, but has returned to the animation studio to write and direct the sequel to his fan-favorite film.

Given the current obsession with superheroes, we can imagine the new Incredibles film will have a much stronger response from audiences than the first film.

Incredibles 2 is slated to land in theaters June 15, 2018.
