There’s no telling if or when Marvel Studios will ever actually produce the long-awaited Blade reboot. Since announcing Blade in 2019, with Mahershala Ali set to play the titular Daywalker, Marvel has taken backwards step after backwards step. With cast and crew leaving on numerous occasions, and no set release date at this point, it’s hard to say when โ or if โ we’ll ever see the new Blade. Fortunately, there are already three live-action Blade films out there, and streaming them just got a little easier.

At the start of the month, the films in the original Blade trilogy all made their way to the Paramount+ streaming lineup. That puts the entire franchise on the same service, which is a rarer occasion than you might think. 1998’s Blade is now on the streamer’s roster, alongside 2002’s Blade II and 2004’s Blade: Trinity.
If you want to watch through the Wesley Snipes Blade movies on Paramount+, you only have a short time to do so. Despite being added to the service on September 1st, they’re going to be exiting at the end of the month.
Another Halloween Picks To Stream on Paramount+
The Blade films aren’t exactly “horror” movies in the traditional sense, but they contain more than enough elements of the genre to make them perfect viewers for comic fans in the months of September and October. That’s especially true of the first two films, which lean heavily on practical blood and vampire lore. And if you recall, Blade II is directed by none other than Guillermo Del Toro, the king of mixing horror and heroes (see also: Hellboy).
If you want more traditional horror, though, Paramount+ has set itself up as a destination for the genre this fall. At the start of September, alongside the Blade trilogy, Paramount+ added a slew of major horror titles to the service’s lineup.
Some of those new additions include Cloverfield, World War Z, Scary Movie, Scream 4, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Sleepy Hollow, The Crow, The Faculty, The Ring, and the first eight Friday the 13th films.
Outside of maybe Peacock, Paramount+ was the strongest of the streaming services in terms of horror additions this month. The full list of new horror additions can be found here, with Paramount+ outpacing rivals like Netflix, HBO Max, and Hulu. That said, there’s no telling exactly how many of these horror films will last through the end of October. As we’ve seen with Blade, some titles could be one-month rentals, which will inevitably hop to another streaming service after their time with Paramount+ is up.
