In next week's episode of Arrow, titled "Heir to the Demon," it seems entirely plausible that fans will discover Sara "Black Canary" Lance was romantically entangled with the daughter of Ra's al Ghul, Nyssa Raatko, during her time missing and presumed dead. ComicBook.com speculated about this back in November, pointing out that the pair might turn out to be connected since Sara was referred to as "The Beloved" by one of the previous emissaries of the League of Assassins that was sent her way. If you'll notice, in the teaser for "Heir to the Demon" embedded below, Sara says "She took Mom to get me to come back to her," not "to come back with her." That's an odd phrasing if this is really just another soldier for Ra's, coming to Starling to make Canary come back to the League of Assassins.

Her father's reaction, a kind of low-key "...oh," is equally vexing if what he's being told is that the stakes are once again set at the same point they were last time he saw his youngest daughter. Honestly, it could just be that I already had this theory, but it kind of seems as though his reaction wouldn't be out of place if he were told, moments before, that his daughter had been in a relationship with this woman before things went bad and she got out. And there's the phrasing of the ad: "An assassin scorned." Why should she personally feel scorned, if Sara just left the League in its entirety behind? It sounds as though she specifically deserted Nyssa.

UPDATE: An extended version of the trailer, embedded below, was just released and seemingly confirms the suspicions above.0comments
