It looks like Avengers: Age of Ultron is going to best another figure help by 2012's The Avengers.

Following a strong preview night of $27.6 million, Avengers: Age of Ultron is on track to hit an $87 million opening Friday night and a $213 million opening weekend. That's a healthy uptick from 2012's The Avengers, which made $80.8 million on its opening night and $207.4 million for the entire weekend. If Age of Ultron hits the $213 million mark before Sunday closes, it will have the highest grossing opening weekend of all time—a ranking currently held by The Avengers.

With more than $300 million already banked in the foreign box office, many expect Age of Ultron to blow every Avengers figure out of the water. In fact, some analysts think that the film could reach $2 billion globally before leaving theaters. The Avengers only achieved $1.5 billion.
